Life Songs
This is for another blog challenge from Stacy. This one is to choose one or more songs that take you back to specific events, places and times and write about them. I have been sitting here trying to think of particular songs and it's a little hard for me. Not because I can't remember them but because I love music so much that I am constantly listening to it and have quite a variety of songs that I listen to. I did come up with a few though.
1. "Do you know the way to San Jose" sung by Dionne Warwick. It reminds me so much of both of my parents and being around them and their friends during my childhood. I always think of the parties they would have in our house growing up and how I loved to help my Mom entertain. I can almost hear the song in the background when I remember these images.
2. "Photograph" by Def Leppard. This song reminds me of my senior year in high school with my two best friends at the time. I remember driving around on a Saturday night in one of our cars singing at the top of our voices to this song turned full volume on the radio. It brings back memories of being so carefree and wild.
3. "Beautiful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. This song was the last song at Mike's and my wedding reception. Even though it wasn't the song we did our first dance to it is the one that brings me back to that wonderful day the most.
4. "We're not gonna take it" by Twisted Sister. For some reason this song became a favorite early on of both my daughters. We had to go and get the CD so they could hear it more often. I still can picture both of them standing near the stereo dancing away to the music.

My Top Ten for 2006
Here is my list of the top ten things from 2006, in no particular order.
1. Attending the New England Scrapshare Retreat in October. I got to spend 3 wonderful days with a bunch of great and funny women who share my love of scrapbooking!
2. Our vacation to Colorado in July. We did a 12 day trip to Vail, Colorado this summer and it was one of the most adventurous and exciting trips we have been on.
3. My new neice born in April. I am so happy to be "Aunt Karen"!
4. Spending Easter with Scott, Kirsten, Caroline and Bryce. It always fills my heart with joy to be able to share holidays with our families.
5. Watching my daughter's dance recitals in June.
6. Marching with my daughters' school in the Applefest Parade.
7. Being a Brownie leader for Meghan's troop and helping the Daisy leaders with Nicole's troop.
8. Getting together for lunch a couple of times this year with my Scrapshare friends. What a blast we have had at the different lunches this year.
9. Finally getting rid of our old tiny deck and getting a new larger one that we can actually use and entertain on.
10. My family. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and 2 beautiful daughters and I cherish them so much.

Let's get this started
Ok, with all that I have read recently about blogs and seeing what others have done I decided to jump on the blog bandwagon.
I have always wanted to keep a diary to record my thoughts so I figured this should be as good of a place as any to do that. I hope I will be able to keep this fairly up to date. We'll see!
